About Institution's Innovation Council (IIC)

Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC) launched the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) programme in collaboration with AICTE to systematically foster the culture of innovation and start-up ecosystem in higher education institutions.

The primary goal of this council is to inspire, encourage and nurture young students for various activities involved in pre-incubation, incubation and successful start-ups.

MIC has envisioned encouraging the creation of Institution's Innovation Councils (IICs) across selected Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). A network of these IICs was established to promote innovation through multiple modes, leading to the development of a strong innovation promotion ecosystem on campuses.

Our college has established the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) for promoting activities related to Innovation, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Start-ups and Entrepreneurship.

Faculty members and students are associated with the IIC. The IIC conducts quarterly meetings to plan activities and review the progress of activities conducted during each quarter.

Through these activities, students get opportunities to participate in various innovation-related initiatives and competitions. They can interact with renowned entrepreneurs, academicians, professionals and innovators, enabling them to nurture and develop their ideas.

 Major Focus Areas

1. To create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem.
2. To establish start-up and entrepreneurship support mechanisms in HEIs.
3. To prepare the institution for the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) framework.
4. To establish an effective ecosystem for scouting ideas and pre-incubation of innovative ideas.
5. To develop better cognitive abilities and innovative thinking among students.

 Functions of IIC

1. To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by the Central MIC in a time-bound manner.
2. To identify and reward innovations and share successful innovation stories.
3. To organize periodic workshops, seminars and interactions with entrepreneurs, investors and professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
4. To establish networks with peer institutions and national entrepreneurship development organizations.
5. To organize webinars, workshops, competitions, mini-challenges and other innovation-related activities with the involvement of experts from different fields.
